If you fancy writing with other writers, real creatives, great people, then I can recommend doing it in the countryside, in sunny (and rainy!) Devon. Big old thatched house, thick stone walls, creaky wooden floors, and the food is homemade and frankly... to die for. This heaven. And you can drink loads of wine, and then meet and discuss your work with published authors. Of course, you might have to mediate the wine before blurting out how great your work is, but then again, it's all taken with a laugh. I wish I could stay.
